Hello! My name is Michelle Fields and I am an Assistant Professor at Big Sandy Community and Technical College located in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. I teach a variety of Developmental and English classes including Introduction to Film. Being the Film Studies person at this campus, I am regularly approached by people wanting recommendations or simply to talk about a movie. I’ve created this blog to encourage wider discussion amongst students, faculty and staff. I’d also love for us to interact with other movie lovers wherever they may be.
I will be posting a new review every morning Monday through Friday beginning August 18, 2008, when our Fall Semester begins. Unfortunately, geography and demands on my time mean that I don’t get to the theatre to see movies first-run as often as I’d like, so there will be a variety of types of films being examined here. My reviews will include the movies I do see in the theatre, recent high definition purchases, as well as much older classics.
This is a great idea Michelle. I know you will have a lot of fun with it and everyone should learn a lot. Linda
There’s a Bluegrass CTC film professor that has a film blog too, you might want to check it out or link to it.

Good luck with your new project!
Hi Michelle,
What a cool idea! I can’t wait for you to share your thoughts on the latest movies.
Thanks again for helping with our program this summer. We couldn’t have made it without you.
Have you seen Mama Mia yet? If not, we should go and you can review it
Brad doesn’t want to go.
Talk to you soon,
Laura
